CANTEENTuesdays : Full lunches may be purchased. Thursday : Every fortnight theme food order The Canteen is staffed by volunteers including the manager. On Registration Day forms will be provided for parents to indicate their willingness to assist in the preparation of lunches. To assist in the smooth operation of the Canteen, parents are requested to supply a paper bag with the following information on the outside: Child's name Grade Teacher's name Order ............. Place the money in bag - correct change where possible. Baskets are provided for each class to collect orders and return the lunches to the classroom before the lunch break. Canteen menu will be circulated for the commencement of each term. Students are not to enter the Canteen. Mondays to Fridays: Selected items are sold from the Canteen between 12.40pm and 1.00pm. CLASS SUPPLIES AND BOOKS
All textbooks and class supplies are purchased by the school and given to each child at the commencement of the school year. Appropriate charges are made on Registration Day. Students from Prep – Year 2 have all stationery, books, and pencils supplied. Students from Year 3 - 6 may need to purchase some pencils, and pens. More information will be supplied on registration day. DISEASES AND ILLNESSChildren with infectious diseases must remain away from school for the period as stated by the Health Department. Please consult with your doctor before returning your child to school. Kindy children need to produce their immunisation record at the time of enrolment. Prep children need to consult the doctor for advice. Children who have not been immunised against tetanus, diphtheria, whooping cough, polio, measles, mumps and rubella, must remain at home if there is an outbreak within the school. Parents must notify the school if your child has contracted an infectious disease. General guideline for time away:- Mumps 14 days after swelling appears Rubella 4 days after rash appears Conjunctivitis Doctor's advice Whooping Cough 1 4 days and other family members 14 days after exposure Chicken Pox /Measles Doctor's advice HAT POLICYOur school enforces the "no hat, stay in the shade" rule. Therefore, all children are required to eat their lunch in areas protected from the sun and all children must wear the regulation hat which protects the face, head, ears and neck from the sun. Children must wear their hat throughout the whole year, during the hours of 10.30 - 3.00 pm. for all sport, P.E. and free play activities. We also strongly encourage the wearing of a sun block and recommend that each child has his/her personal sunscreen for all occasions. HOUSE SYSTEMThe school has two traditional houses - Philip and Hunter. House competitions are arranged in swimming, athletics and other P.E. and sport activities. The teams compete for perpetual trophies in athletics, swimming and good behaviour. House captains are elected by all school students. INCLEMENT WEATHER
In inclement weather where students have to walk from buses to school, protective clothing is acceptable until they arrive at school. LOST PROPERTYAll care will be taken to collect student clothing left on the school premises but no responsibility can be taken. NAME TAGS ARE REQUIRED ON ALL CLOTHING. Names on the inside of shoes or marks on the soles will help also. A lost property cupboard is located in the main entrance area outside the staff room.
