REPORTING AND ASSESSMENT

The best kind of reporting is face to face discussions between the teacher and parent. Our school  encourages this kind of reporting whenever possible.

A progress report will be issued to parents during Term 1 and a comprehensive report issued at the end of Term 2 and Term 4. Parent interviews are given with the Mid Year report.

Profile folders containing samples of work will be sent home with each student at the end of Terms 1, 2 & 4.

Written permission is required from the parents;
Parents will be given notification of the nature and extent of the excursion as well as any special requirements or conditions anticipated;
Sufficient teachers and adults will be taken to adequately guide and supervise the children at all times.
Students in Years 5 &  6 will attend an overnight camp.

CHILDREN WITH SPECIAL NEEDS

Gifted and Talented:

The School identifies these children by listening to recommendations from teachers and parents as well as results from Standardised tests administered in the final term of each year. Professional staff are available to give individual I.Q. tests to identified children.

Vertical timetabling in Maths, Reading And Spelling, extension and enrichment activities will be used to broaden knowledge, interests, processes, strategies and skills beyond the normal core school programme and at a level appropriate to the development  needs of the student.

Learning Difference:

These children will be identified as stated above. Special programmes of work will be provided at the level of ability and remedial teaching provided on a needs basis. Vertical timetabling in Reading, Maths and Spelling are available.
